Lesson Video

Notes

The Soma invocation remains the same:

Note: These lines are suggestions only. Feel free to let come what comes for you, provided you are reading the 9th Mandala and getting a feeling for it by now. Use lines you relate to. Also, ellipsis, “…”, means pause and feel.

“Soma, Soma, Soma, flow in a sweet and exhilarating stream, sweet for Indra, Vayu, Varuna, Mitra, the Ashwins, Vishnu, Pushan, Aryaman, Bhaga, and all the Devas…. Indu, flow for Indra…
Soma Pavamana, purify us, with thy purifying streams…
Soma, give us brightness…strength…and intelligence
Soma, Soma, Soma, bring us wealth of a thousand radiances.
Soma Pavamana, give us all good things, and make us happy…. Soma, Soma, Soma…”
Soma, where light is perpetual, in the world in which the sun is placed, in that immortal, imperishable world place me, Pavamana: flow, Indu, for Indra.
(Feel your relationship with Soma.)

Audio meditation

The following meditation is extracted from the video of the lesson. It is just the meditation portion. Please watch the video before using the audio meditation, as there is essential instruction in the video that is not included in the meditation. This is true for all lessons in the course. The audio meditation is intended to give you convenient access to the meditation for the lesson so you can use it as a guided meditation daily until you are ready for the next lesson.

Homework

  • Continue to read from the Ninth Mandala of the Rig Veda (See the PDF in Lesson 3) and meditate daily at least once, or better yet twice if you can. Note that I’ve begun adding verses from the 10th Mandala as well. You may read these if you like and compare the difference in feeling.
  • Feel and express gratitude and appreciation for all the innumerable blessings in your life! Gratitude feeds the Devas!
